Police took two fugitives into custody after a multi-county chase was stopped by stop sticks.

On Wednesday, officers from the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department and the Shipshewana Police Department joined Elkhart County Sheriff’s  deputies as they chased a vehicle carrying two fugitives. According to a police report,  the red 20016 Hyundai sped away from the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department at a high rate of speed.

In the 9100 block of S.R. 120, police tossed out stop sticks and were able to stop the vehicle.

Police arrested  Michael L. Robinson, 47, of Shipshewana and Karla J. Raasch, 44, of Kendallville. It’ s not clear what they were charged with. Police noted that Robinson had a warrant out of LaGrange County for a probation violation.

No other information was available, and it’s not clear why the vehicle sped away in the beginning.
