A Shipshwana man was arrested Sunday after leading police on a chase that started in Michigan and ended in LaGrange County and involved a vehicle stolen from Colorado.
The LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department was notified of a vehicle pursuit out of Michigan that entered the county on State Road 9, just north of Howe.
The vehicle turned west on State Road 120 at a high rate of speed and police putting other motorists in danger according to police.
Officers were able to use what’s called a P.I.T. or precision immobiliation technique manuever that diasbled the vehicle.
Aaron Joseph Schrock, 23, was taken into custody and in addition to the vehicle being reported stolen from Colorado, the license plates were registered in California and were also reported stolen.
Schrock was booked into the LaGrange County Jail on charges of (1) Count of Resisting Law Enforcement with a Motor Vehicle, (1) Count of Possession of Stolen Property (Felony), (1) Count of Possession of Stolen Property (Misdemeanor) and Reckless Driving. Additional Charges are expected from Michigan authorities as well.
Assisting the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department in the investigation were the Indiana State Police, LaGrange Police Department, Constantine Police Department, Sturgis Police Department and Indiana Conservation Department.
