FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – City council has voted to approve the purchase of a railroad right-of-way along the St. Marys River. The move is one step in moving the development of the city’s riverfront forward.

The former Norfolk Southern Railway Corridor connects the North River property to the Promenade Park area to the south.

A vote to purchase the original Rescue Mission building along Superior Street was delayed. A potential vote could happen in two weeks.
