FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Two men held a Dollar General employee and a customer at gunpoint during a Wednesday morning robbery, according to the police report on the incident.

Police were called to the store at 1425 Goshen Avenue around 8:45 a.m. An employee told police that two men came in as she was walking through the store to prepare for a visit from the regional manager. She said one of the two came up to her, pointed a gun at her and said “be cool and nothing will happen.”

The suspects had the employee open registers and the area for cigarettes. They also had her show them how to open the back door without the alarm going off.

While the two men were inside with the employee, a woman was trying to come inside the store. The suspects decided to let her in and the gunman hid to surprise the would-be customer. The two men then had the women sit together in a section of the store while they walked toward the back. When police arrived, the employee wasn’t sure if the men were still inside the store or if they had gone out the back.

Police cleared the scene and did not find the suspects. The two made off with cash and some cigarettes. The employee described the two men as being about 6′ tall, black, and possibly in their 20s. However, she said they had their faces covered and were wearing black gloves, black pants and black shoes.
