FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) For nearly 20 years, a local non-profit organization has been dedicated to the rescue, recovery and release of injured, ill or orphaned birds of prey. Soarin’ Hawk Raptor Rehab has more than 90 volunteers who keep it running.
Volunteers Aim’ee Nelson and Sandy Moore along with Ruby, a Red-tailed Hawk and Apollo, a Great Horned Owl joined NewsChannel 15’s Gina Glaros and Meteorologist Rob Lydick to explain an opportunity to see birds of prey up close.The free annual Raptor Expo is Saturday, May 16 from 11 a.m. 6 p.m. at Pavillion #1 in Franke Park.
