AEP gives zoo gift for classroom project

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) The Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo’s plans to renovate its Jungle Lab classroom got a major financial boost Friday.

Officials from Indiana Michigan Power presented the zoo a check for $75,000 to be used for the project in a ceremony inside the under-construction lab, located at the exit of the Indonesian Rain Forest. Zoo Director Jim Anderson accepted the donation, surrounded by dozens of children.

Indiana Michigan Power presented the gift on behalf of the AEP Foundation.
