Eastbrook falls to Western Boone in 2A state title game

Eastbrook made its second trip to the 2A state title game in three years but the Panthers came up short again with a 34-20 loss to Western Boone on Friday afternoon at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Eastbrook, ranked no. 5 in the 2A state poll, led 14-10 at half thanks to two rushing touchdowns from quarterback Dylan Bragg. Bragg finished with 12 carries for 47 yards and 3 TDs.

2A no. 1 Western Boone scored on the first play from scrimmage in the third quarter when Spencer Wright hit Logan Benson for a 56-yard TD. Benson finished the game with 9 receptions for 159 yards and 4 touchdown catches.

Xaine Kirby led Eastbrook in rushing with 23 carries for 60 yards.

Eastbrook finishes 13-2 overall in Jeff Adamson’s 30th season while Western Boone ends up a perfect 15-0.
