Cavaliers ready to defend 1A state title

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Canterbury will look to make it back-to-back state titles - and seven overall in program history - on Friday night when the Cavaliers face Covenant Christian in Indianapolis for the 1A crown.

These two programs met in the 1A state title game last year with Canterbury winning 2-1.

Covenant Christian comes in with a 13-8 overall record while Canterbury is 11-7-4.

The Cavs beat Boone Grove 3-1 in overtime last Saturday at the Kokomo semi-state to advance.

The 1A state title game is set for 6 p.m. Friday at the Michael A. Carroll Track & Soccer Stadium at IUPUI.
