Blackhawk Christian’s Furst named Indiana Mr. Basketball

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian star Caleb Furst has wrapped up a dominant senior season by winning the IndyStar Mr. Basketball Award.

Furst received 73 votes compared with runner-up Trey Kaufman-Renn of Silver Creek, Indiana’s 2020 Gatorade player of the year.

Kaufman-Renn received 47 votes. Both will play at Purdue next season.

Furst averaged 21.4 points, 14.1 rebounds and 2.2 blocks last season, leading the Braves to a 28-3 mark and their second straight state championship.
