Bishop Luers’ Dippold gains new perspective after studying abroad in Japan

High School Sports

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Would you believe me if I told you Bishop Luers has some football fans all the way in Japan? It’s true.

Bishop Luers senior Josh Dippold jumped at an opportunity to travel half way around the world as a part of a study-abroad program with the Knights sister school in Takaoka, Japan.

The Knights face Homestead in the Highlight Zone Game of the Week.

The month-long journey for the defensive back along with 15 of his classmates and a few teachers took place over the summer. Dippold did miss some football functions but head coach Kyle Lindsay knows the benefits of this experience would be too much to pass up.

The senior returns as an expert with chop sticks (although he doesn’t get to show off his new skills in Indiana much) and also more culturally diverse with a new appreciation for life in Fort Wayne.
