Ballard steps down as Bellmont football coach

High School Sports

After three seasons leading the Bellmont football program Marty Ballard has stepped down as the Braves head coach.

Ballard’s teams went 7-26, including 2-10 this season when the Braves went winless in the regular season but won two straight in the playoffs to earn a spot in the sectional title game.

Ballard says he wants to spend more time with his young family.

Bellmont is the second NE8 program undergoing a coaching change already this off-season. Rick Burnau is no longer the head coach at Huntington North.
