Country music star Garth Brooks held a news conference at Notre Dame Friday afternoon in advance Saturday’s historic concert inside the football stadium where an estimated 84,000 fans will be in attendance.
Brooks said he’s both excited and nervous.
The concert, which will be recorded and televised on CBS and WANE 15 in December, doesn’t start until 7 pm, but concert-goers will be able to tailgate outside the stadium starting at 10 am.
Tickets for the show were sold-out in about two hours. It will be the first ever standalone concert inside Notre Dame Stadium.
To anticipate the large number of fans, the South Shore Railroad is adding seating capacity for some eastbound trains prior to the concert and it will also offer a westbound train that will leave South Bend 90 minutes after the show.
