He will be a pitcher only this season and at Davenport. In addition, Drew served as a co-captain of the 2018 team.

Coach Hershberger at Ivy Tech CC – Fort Wayne had this to say about Drew Buffenbarger:
“I am very happy and excited for Drew as he makes this commitment to continue his athletic and academic career. Davenport is a great school, and has an outstanding baseball program. Coach Tidey is one of the best around. Drew was instrumental in the initial success of our program here at Ivy Tech. His leadership as a team captain of our first team has been invaluable. I am also excited to see Drew just concentrate on pitching this year. He has a great arm and with his specializing in pitching only, and with the additional coaching he will receive from Coach Tidey and his staff at Davenport once he gets there, I believe the sky is the limit!”

Coach Kevin Tidey at Davenport University had this to say about Drew Buffenbarger:

He also hit .321 with 42 total hits, 35 runs scored, 5 doubles, 1 home run, 26 RBI’s, and 20 SB.  Zach was named the MVP of the first Ivy Tech Baseball Team for his work on the mound and his clutch hitting. Zach will be a pitcher only this season and at Davenport.

Zach’s high school baseball coach at East Noble HS was Aaron Desmonds.

Coach Hershberger at Ivy Tech CC – Fort Wayne had this to say about Zach Haefer:
“Zach is a tremendous competitor on the mound. The moment is never too big for him as evidenced by his 2 walk-off hits as an offensive player, as well as his 3 complete games on the mound. He gives you everything he has all of the time. Zach was the first MVP for our first team  at Ivy Tech, which speaks for itself as to his value to the team. While not a power pitcher (low 80’s guy), Zach’s arm angle, movement, and competitiveness make him special. He will do well at Davenport, and I am very excited for him, too, and what Davenport, Coach Tidey, and his staff will do to enhance Zach’s pitching. Zach will concentrate on pitching only this year at Ivy Tech, and at Davenport, as well.”
