Mastodons silenced in Sin City

LAS VEGAS (WANE) – Purdue Fort Wayne hung with UNLV early, but the Mastodons wound up falling to the Runnin’ Rebels 86-71 in the season opener for both teams.

Jarred Godfrey had a big night for the Dons, as the sophomore tallied 24 points on 10-of-17 shooting. Dylan Carl chipped in with 11 points while Matt Holba added 10.

After an early burst, the Dons trailed 39-23 at halftime.

The Dons are back home at War Memorial Coliseum on Thursday night when they host Manchester University at 7 p.m.
