Notre Dame linebacker Drue Tranquill can make Notre Dame history next month.
Tranquill, who has been named one of three finalists for the Wuerffel Trophy, can become the first player in Irish history to win the award.
The Wuerffel Trophy is the premier award for community service in college football.
Kansas State offensive lineman Dalton Risner and Purdue quarterback David Blough are the other finalists.
The winner will be announced on December 4.
