Emily Dwire is the First News weekday morning anchor. She joined WANE 15 in July of 2021 after spending nearly two years at WOWT in Omaha, Nebraska, and seven years at WPTA in Fort Wayne.
During her time in Omaha, Emily covered an array of breaking news scenes, the George Floyd protests, and the countless impacts of the Coronavirus pandemic on families, organizations, and the community. She also reported on and updated major national and international stories as the Daybreak live desk anchor. Her career began at WPTA where she anchored the ABC21 morning show for three years, and produced and anchored ABC21 News at Noon. She was also a full-time reporter, producer, and editor during her career.
Emily is a Fort Wayne native and graduated from Snider High School and Ball State University with a degree in Telecommunications – News option.
Outside of work, Emily enjoys Spending time with her husband and dog, Nash. She’s always looking to try new foods, go to concerts and festivals, and head to a Colts, Komets, or TinCaps game.
