Emily Dwire

Emily Dwire is the First News weekday morning anchor alongside Pat Hoffmann and Greg Shoup. She joined WANE 15 News in July 2021 after spending nearly two years at WOWT in Omaha, Nebraska, and seven years at WPTA in Fort Wayne.

During her time in Omaha, Emily covered an array of breaking news scenes, two days of the George Floyd protests, and the countless impacts of the Coronavirus pandemic on families, organizations, and the community. As the Daybreak live desk anchor, she also reported on major national and international stories from the studio every morning. Her journalism career began at WPTA where she anchored the ABC21 morning show for three years, and produced and anchored ABC21 News at Noon. She was also a full-time reporter, producer, and editor during her career.

Emily is a Fort Wayne native and graduated from Snider High School where she played soccer, sang in the choir, and worked on the school yearbook. She continued her education at Ball State University where she graduated with a degree in Telecommunications with an emphasis on News.

Outside of work, Emily enjoys spending time with her husband Rex and their two dogs Nash and Henry. She’s always up for trying new food, traveling, going to concerts and festivals, and heading to Colts, Komets, and TinCaps games.
