The City of Fort Wayne has declared a Level 1 State of Emergency for as of 11:00PM Tuesday, February 1, 2011.
Only authorized emergency vehicles are allowed on the road.
At the recommendation of the Fort Wayne-Allen County Office of Homeland Security, Citilink will NOT provide regularly scheduled fixed route, ACCESS or campusLink service the morning of Wednesday, February 2nd.
A decision about service the rest of Wednesday will be made after further consultation as the storm progresses.

Due to the blizzard and unsafe road conditions and a Level 1 road status, National Serv-All has stopped all trash and recycling collections for Wednesday, February 2. There will be no collections on Wednesday.
Level 1 Snow Emergency for Fort Wayne, New Haven and all of Allen County. At this time the Level 1 declaration restricts travel to emergency personnel only.
While crews are continuing to plow through the night the combination of continued snow, sleet and high winds causing large snow drifts, is making many roads impassable. Allen County remains under a Blizzard Warning until 7pm tomorrow.

Garbage and Recycling in the City of Fort Wayne will not occur on Wednesday February 2nd.

Level 1 Snow Emergency has now been declared for Huntington (city and county). Travel is restricted to emergency vehicles ONLY.
Paulding County, Ohio has issued a Level 2 Road Advisory. Roadways are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow. Drivers are advised against unnecessary travel.
DeKalb County has issued a Level 1 Winter Weather Emergency effective 9:30 p.m. Tuesday. This means that travel may be restricted to emergency personnel ONLY. Further restrictions may be included in the declaration.
Adams County is raising the weather code starting at 10PM Wednesday evening to Code Red Level 3. This lines up with the Indiana Department of Homeland Security Travel code Orange for Watch.
Kosciusko County Commissioners and the County Administrator have closed Kosciusko County government offices tomorrow for the safety of county employees due to the severe weather.
Only emergency service employees will be working which include the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department, Kosciusko County-City Communications Center/9-1-1, Kosciusko County Emergency Management and the Kosciusko County Highway Department.
According to Indiana Department of Homeland Security 60,000 power outages have been reported throughout the state.
Approximately 750 yellow state plow trucks have been deployed to help keep roads clear. The Indiana Department of Transportation is also moving drivers from southern Indiana to assist where needed.

While the Level 2 Winter Weather Warning is in effect, Allen County Parks will be closed to the public in an effort to keep people off the roads. As soon as the Level 2 Warning is lifted, the parks will re-open for business as usual.
The Parkview after-hours medical clinics in Noble and Whitley counties are closed Tuesday night.
Whitley County government offices will be closed Wednesday, February 2nd.

American Red Cross of Northeast Indiana opens emergency shelter in Fort Wayne for stranded drivers.
The shelter will be located at First Assembly of God church located at 1400 W. Washington Center Road. The shelter opens at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday night.
The Red Cross said members of the Indiana National Guard are patrolling the roadways, and will use this designated shelter as a place to house stranded motorists. The Red Cross is equipped to provide snacks, hot beverages, warm blankets and other comfort items to affected people.

Indiana Michigan Power reports the weather has not had a significant impact on its electric system. The company will continue monitoring the storm.

I-70 eastbound at the 154 mile-marker in Wayne County is currently closed due to a three semi-tractor trailer crash that the Wayne County Sheriff's Office is investigating.

GM Fort Wayne Assembly has cancelled production and maintenance operations for Wednesday, February 2, 2011, beginning with 3rd shift tonight and continuing through 1st and 2nd shift on Wednesday. Weather permitting, normal operations are scheduled to resume for Thursday's 3rd shift (which begins Wednesday evening.)
