FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - - As of Monday night the Mad Ants now know when they’ll hit the basketball court next.
The NBA G League just released a time and dates for the first two rounds of the playoffs.
As WANE reported earlier in the day, the league had postponed finalizing dates due to the death of a G League player Zeke Upshaw of Grand Rapids.
The Ants will host the winner of the Erie BayHawks and Lakeland Magic on Tuesday, April 3 at 7 p.m. at War Memorial Coliseum in the Eastern Conference semifinals. As division champs, the Ants received a bye in the first round. The Magic and BayHawks will play Saturday, March 31 at 3 p.m. in Erie.
Upshaw died at a hospital Monday, two days after he collapsed Saturday night near the end of a game against the Long Island Nets. He was 26.
No cause of death was disclosed for Upshaw, the second year player out of Hofstra.
The Mad Ants said earlier on Monday that due to “extenuating circumstances,” the date and time of their first home playoff game was yet to be determined.
