Fairfield names Thacker head football coach

GOSHEN, Ind. - This evening the Fairfield Community School Board approved the hiring of Matthew Thacker as the next Fairfield High School Varsity Head Football Coach. Thacker will also be teaching in the Special Needs Department at Fairfield Jr-Sr High School starting next Fall. Mathew and his wife Mary, along with their children Grant and Olivia live in Warsaw.

Thacker is a 1995 Graduate of Warsaw High school and a 1999 Graduate of Manchester College.

Thacker Coached from 2000-2006 at Lakeland High School Freshman Football Coach and a Varsity Defensive Coordinator under Rex Bowser and Keith Thompson. In the Fall of 2006, Thacker moved to Warsaw Community High School where he has coached to today. At Warsaw, Thacker coached Junior Varsity, Offensive line and most recently was Varsity Offensive Coordinator for the Tigers. Thacker coached at Warsaw under Troy Akers and Phil Jensen. In addition to his Football duties at Warsaw, Thacker also has been their Head Boys Track Coach since 2009.

Thacker becomes the 6th Falcon Head Football Coach.
