FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - 4A no. 5 Huntington North scored three runs in the first en route to a 5-1 victory over Jay County as sectional softball play continued on Tuesday night.
Two of Huntington North's three early runs came on a home run by Erin Rethlake. A junior who has verbally committed to the University of Kentucky, Rethlake earned the win on the hill, striking out 18 in the process.
In the late game at Homestead the host Spartans topped New Haven 8-5. Homestead and Huntington North now will play tomorrow night following the East Noble-Carroll game at 5 p.m.
