Waterloo man arrested in stabbing

DEKALB CO., Ind. (WANE) - A Waterloo man is facing charges in connection with a stabbing Monday night.

Officers were called to the 300 block of North Washington Street just after 5:00 on a report of two 18-year-olds fighting in the middle of the street.

Investigators believe that at some point during the altercation, Dakota Speak stabbed Douglas Brown in the back.

Police took Speak into custody at the scene. Medics took Brown to a Fort Wayne hospital. His condition is unknown.

Speak was later taken to and incarcerated in the DeKalb County Jail on a preliminary charge of Battery with a Deadly Weapon, a Level 5 Felony. He's being held without bond.
