WANE-TV recognized with 5 AP Broadcast awards

INDIANAPOLIS (WANE) - The 2017 Associated Press Broadcast Awards were presented Saturday night in Indianapolis.

The awards ceremony recognizes achievements in television news for stations across Indiana. 

WANE-TV was a finalist in ten categories and placed first in five categories and second in five categories. 

1st Place Awards were presented to:

  • Brett Thomas for Best General News for his story, "Deadly Corridor"
  • Alyssa Ivanson for Best News Series for her stories, "Hidden Predators"
  • Alyssa Ivanson for Best Community Impact for her stories, "Hidden Predators"
  • Andy McDonnell for Best Sports Videography for his story, "Beer Vendor"
  • Photojournalist Ross Kinsey for Best Feature or Enterprise Videography for his work on "A Hall of Fame Life"

2nd Place Awards were presented to:
