FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - An Indianapolis man was killed in a crash on Interstate 69 south of Fort Wayne early Saturday morning.
Investigators said around 5 a.m., 24-year-old Jamar L. Mansfield was headed south on I-69 near mile marker 294 when his vehicle left the road for an unknown reason, according to the Allen County Sheriff's Department.
The vehicle went off the road and rolled before coming to a stop in a grassy area about 30 feet from the shoulder of the road.
Police said they found Mansfield had been ejected and a passenger was able to crawl out of the vehicle. Both were taken to a hospital.
Mansfield later died at the hospital. THe Allen County Coroner's Office said he died of blunt force trauma from an accident.
The passenger, who has not been identified, did not have life-threatening injuries.
Investigators said neither person was wearing a seat belt.
The crash is under investigation.
