One critically hurt in Thanksgiving shooting

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Fort Wayne police are investigating a shooting that left one person hurt early Thanksgiving morning at a nightclub. The shooting happened at about 3:12 a.m. in the 5600 block of St. Joe Road.

Off-duty officers working security at the Hub, formerly known as Pierre's, heard the gunshots and found a man on the ground in the parking lot.

The victim was taken to a hospital in very serious condition. Fort Wayne Police Department Spokesman John Chambers said the victim was later downgraded to critical condition.

Investigators at the scene said the club closed at 3 a.m. and there were several people outside in the parking lot with the victim.

Police saw a pickup truck speeding away from the shooting. Officers found the truck a few blocks away, crashed into a shed in the 4400 block of Elsdale Drive.

The driver was taken in for questioning to see if he is involved or witnessed the incident.

Police haven't made any arrests yet and don't have any suspect information.

Investigators are talking to witnesses and gathering information. The victim's name will be released at a later time.
