Greater Fort Wayne CEO Doden to step down

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - The CEO of Greater Fort Wayne Inc. will leave the position at year's end.

Eric Doden "plans to transition out of his role" by Dec. 31, according to a release from the econonic development driver. Doden cited a collection of reasons for his departure from Greater Fort Wayne after three years.

"The reasons for this change in my life are multiple: I have a passion for operating, coaching, and mentoring in my private-sector ventures, and I have been on a leave of absence from Domo Development for six years," he explained. "The demands of being the DEC of GFW Inc. are relentless, and I look forward to spending more time with my wife and best friend, M aci, and our five children."

During Doden's tenure, Greater Fort Wayne Inc. has helped 79 businesses expand or relocate in Allen County. The agency had a hand in General Motors' $1.2 billion expansion, Fort Wayne Metals' $51 million expansion and Walmart's development of a $181 million dairy processing facility. All told, the 79 deals brought more than 4,200 new jobs and $184 million in new annual payroll to Allen County.

A search for a new CEO will be held. Doden will work with Greater Fort Wayne's board to help ensure a "smooth succession."
