Crash along Washington Blvd. leaves one in serious condition

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - A crash just east of downtown Fort Wayne closed East Washington Blvd. early Wednesday morning.

Police were called around 5:00 a.m. to the intersection of East Washington Blvd. and Kitch Street after a vehicle struck a pedestrian and crashed. The person struck was listed in serious condition.

East Washington Blvd. had to be closed at the Washington-Maumee split while first responders assessed the victim's condition and investigated the crash.

Some traffic was diverted onto Old Maumee Ave, during this time. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
