LAGRANGE COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) - The body of a fisherman was pulled from a LaGrange County lake on Sunday.
According to a release from the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, Johnson Township Fire Department rescuers recovered a man from Witmer Lake at some point Sunday. His body was found some 30 yards from an overturned anchored canoe at the southeast corner of the lake, the report said.
Witnesses had reportedly seen the victim fishing earlier, the report said.
The man was identified Wednesday as 57-year-old Ronald Knauss of Bristol. LaGrange County Coroner Kenneth Myers said the cause of his death was pending as he waits for autopsy results.
