Update: Homicide declared after body found in Steuben Co. recreation area
STEUBEN CO., Ind (WANE) - A body found in a recreation area in Steuben County on Friday has been declared a homicide, according to Indiana State Police.
State police released additional information Sunday following an autopsy of a deceased male.
Friday, police said around 10:40 a.m. workers at Trine State Recreation Area off Feather Valley Road found what they believed was a body.
Indiana Conservation Officers, Indiana State Police, and the Fremont Fire Department all responded and located an unidentified deceased man.
State police said Sunday an autopsy showed a manner of death to be homicide, but it's unclear how the person died.
State police said investigators are working to identify the body which could take several weeks.
