Police find heroin, meth during traffic stop; 3 arrested

MERCER COUNTY, Ohio (WANE) - Police in Mercer County, Ohio arrested three people after a traffic stop reportedly turned up drugs including heroin and methamphetamine.

According to a release from the Mercer County Sheriff's Office, a deputy made a traffic stop of a 2000 Mercury along Ash Street near Livingston Street in Celina. During the stop, police found the driver - 29-year-old Shawn Krugh of Wilshire, Ohio - under the influence and he was arrested, the release said.

As police investigated, K9 Franco alerted to the vehicle, and a search was conducted. In the vehicle, police reportedly found suspected heroin, methamphetamine, "drugs abuse instruments" and drug paraphernalia, the release said.

Two passengers inside - Wesley Kempton, 34, of Salamonie, Indiana, and Crystal Mullins, no known address - were arrested for drug possession, the sheriff's office said.

All three were booked into the Mercer County Detention Facility.
