SPEEDWAY, Ind. (WISH) - A rainy Monday has not dampened Helio Castroneves' mood, but it
did change his morning plans.
The Indy 500 champ traditionally is photographed at the yard
of bricks the morning after the race. But, turbulent skies forced
speedway planners to move the photo shoot inside.
Castroneves didn't seem to mind the weather at all. He said
the photo shoot wherever it is, lets him enjoy all the spoils of
victory at once.
"The pictures especially in the car with the trophy with the
family and the friends and the team especially," Castroneves said.
Photographers put Castroneves through his paces; from solo
shots heavy on reflectors, to side-by-sides with sponsors, to the
full pics with car, trophy, wreath and team.
"I did about 5 hours, but I'm feeling fantastic. I'm feeling
great and obviously you've gotta enjoy every minute of it. Sleep?
You can sleep later. You always gotta enjoy the moment," said
Castroneves. "I woke up pretty early about 7 o'clock without the
alarm clock. I was like I don't think I have to race, but I do have
to go back to the racetrack. Today is one of the days you really
want to go back."
Castroneves' schedule does not ease up any time soon. The
near future holds talk shows, countless more cameras, and
autographs whenever he can.
