SAN DIEGO (CNN/KGTV) - A bizarre accident occurred in San Diego where a car ended up suspended over an outdoor staircase.
The accident happened Wednesday when authorities say a 70-year-old man lost control of his car.
Officials say he was trying to get a parking voucher at a booth at Kearny Mesa Medical Center when the car started to roll forward.
The man became disoriented and hit the accelerator, sending the car through the gate of the parking lot, over a curb, through a metal guardrail and into the building, leaving the car hanging over the steps.
The driver had to wait while crews figured out a way to safely get him out of the car.
He was not hurt.
