Americans to spend $370M on pet costumes

(CNN) - You might call it a sign of economic growth. You can definitely call it a sign people love their pets.

Americans will spend $370 million on costumes for their pets this year. That's up 19 percent from 2011.

Photos: Dogs and cats in costume

According to a survey conducted by the National Retail Federation, pumpkins will be the most popular pet costumes.

"Devil" will be the second-most popular pet costume.

Also among the most popular costumes are dogs dressed up as cats and cats dressed up as dogs.
