Arbor Farms Nursery has been a trusted name as a leading garden center in the Fort Wayne business community for the past decade. Built on land that was once a working farm, the 22 acre nursery still uses a distinctive century old red barn in daily operations, located at 12515 Coldwater Road, 1 mile north of Dupont Road.

Owners, Dave and Raquell Geller, formed the business as a partnership with friend Dave Wenk in 2000. The two Daves were college roommates at Purdue University, where Geller earned a degree in horticulture in 1991. Dave and Raquel became sole proprietors of the nursery in 2005.

The nursery now has 10 employees, 3 of whom have been employed by Arbor Farms since its inception. Most of the employees are educated and avid gardeners themselves and bring with them, knowledge, experience and a passion for the industry.

Those staff members take pride in assisting customers with plant selections and landscaping decisions.

“We believe much of our success is due to the personal attention our customers receive,” said Raquel. “We treat our customers the way we would like to be treated. We are not interested in merely selling plants, but really want our customers to be successful with their project and enjoy it for years to come.”

Arbor Farms is able to suggest an appropriate plant based on the customers need and the requirements of a particular plant. New plant varieties are being introduced all the time and the staff makes an effort to listen to those needs and choose plants that are superior in growth, disease resistance and flowering.

Arbor Farms Nursery inventories over a thousand different shade and ornamental trees, shrubs and perennials. Annual, vegetable and herb plants are available in early spring.

There is also a good selection of natural landscape stone, bulk and bagged soil, mulch, grass seed, straw bales and straw blankets.

Fertilizers to encourage plant growth and chemicals needed to treat disease or insect infestations are also available in the office. Dave is qualified to diagnose plant problems and can recommend treatment.

The nursery now offers a wide selection of birdbaths, fountains, benches, large ceramic pots, hanging baskets, shepherd hooks and trellises.
