Team of the Week

Each Tuesday, NewsChannel 15 Sports Director Glenn Marini will pick the outstanding High School Team of the Week. The winning team will be presented with "Team of the Week" t-shirts. 

This week's winner is the Leo girls basketball team. The Lady Lions clinched the ACAC championship on Saturday by beating Bluffton to finish with a perfect 7-0 mark in conference. Earlier in the season Leo won the ACAC tournament title in dramatic fashion, beating Garrett in overtime.

Leo is coach by Carrie Shappell, who is in her fifth season as the team's head coach. The Lions stand 16-4 on the season overall despite having just three seniors on the varsity roster.

The Lions play Homestead on Friday before opening sectional play against Bishop Dwenger next week.
