NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. (CBS) - Big waves pounded Southern California's coastline this week.
15-foot waves crashed ashore at the Wedge, a popular surfing spot, in Orange County.
The sizzling heat with temperatures over the century mark in many inland areas enticed crowds to return to the beaches for relief.
