FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Old man winter visited overnight.

Snow, gusty winds, and frigid temperatures have created hazardous travel conditions on some roads across northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio Thursday morning.

A dusting of snow and high winds reduced visibility drastically in some areas earlier Thursday morning.

Many roads remain snow covered and some slick spots have been reported.

A driver on I-469 near the I-69 interchange slid off the road around 11:30 Wednesday night. His car ended up down a steep embankment. Fort Wayne police said the driver was not hurt and lost control on the snow covered road.

Shortly before 1 a.m., police responded to an accident on South Anthony near downtown. No injuries were reported.

Police in Whitley County reported a vehicle had slid of U.S. 24 near State Road 114. A female driver was checked by medics after complaining of chest pain.

Salt trucks from the State, County, and City worked through the night to put salt on affected roads.

Motorists should slow down and use caution if traveling this morning.
