FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Snow and gusty winds are covering most of northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio.
Most of Fort Wayne was seeing snowflakes around 12:30 a.m. Friday morning. Strong winds from the east are also whipping, causing blowing snow.
Many area roads are snow covered and slick. Crews have been working through the night treating roads as the weather system continues to impact the area.
Winds have sustained around 20 m.p.h. with winds gusting to 30 m.p.h. Forecasters are calling for a changeover to freezing rain sometime after 4 a.m.
Just before 2 a.m., light freezing rain was reported in Muncie.
Fort Wayne Airport reported about four-tenths of an inch of snow at 3 a.m.
The snow and freezing rain is expected to exit the area around 9 a.m.
