FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Despite the sun being millions of miles away, scientists constantly track sunspots and solar flares because they can impact our daily lives here on Earth. This is mainly because of our high reliance on advanced technologies like satellites, cell phones and GPS systems (among others).
In this video report, Nicholas Ferreri discusses a recently discovered giant sunspot and the overall increased activity on the sun.
