FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Dense fog blanketed a large portion of the area Monday morning.

The National Weather Service in North Webster issued a Dense Fog Advisory for all of northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio  that remained in effect until 11 am.

Dense fog actually covers a large portion of the Upper Midwest and Great Lakes regions.

Decreasing cloud cover, saturated air, and light winds are fueled the development of fog. The advisory meant visibilities of a quarter-mile or less were possible in some areas.

As expected by the National Weather Service, visibility improved by late morning as south winds began to increase.
