FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Fort Wayne police were at a standoff with a man threatening to commit suicide for more than four hours Saturday.

It started at 5:45 p.m. at 4915 Reed Road when police were called to a report of a suicide threat. Robert Masters, 43, then barricaded himself inside the home while armed with a gun.

The Fort Wayne Police Department's Emergency Services Team and the Crisis Intervention Team also responded. The department's armored truck was also there. After several hours of negotiating on the phone, Masters came outside and surrendered to police.

Police said the man surrendered around 9:10 p.m.

Masters was taken to the hospital for evaluation. No charges are being filed right now.
