FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - In Wednesday's edition of 28 Ideas in 28 Days” series, Heather Herron talked with Allen County Superior Court Judge Wendy Davis.

She's been on the bench for about a year and says it's given her new perspective regarding the problems plaguing our community. Davis believes the breakdown of the traditional family and a poor economy have caused an increase in drug use, which has led to increased crime.

Her mission is to reach youth before they get into trouble and end up as adults in her courtroom. Davis said more people need to get involved in local programs designed to help young people so that there's a greater chance of breaking the cycle of crime.

On Thursday, hear from Eugene Parker. The Roanoke sports agent represents professional athletes across the country.
