NOBLE COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) - Noble County Sheriff's Department deputies were called to a home at the 51 hundred block of W. 100 S. in Noble County at around 3:45 a.m. Friday morning after receiving a call about a suspicious female who was sitting in the passenger side of the homeowner's vehicle.

Police found Shantel Lawlor, 31, of North Webster, inside the homeowner's vehicle complaining of chest pain. Police then discovered she had been involved in a car accident and was trying to get help.

Lawlor was in the car with Anthony Helman, 30, also of North Webster, who was driving westbound on 100 S. near the home where Lawlor was found, when he lost control of the vehicle, causing it to leave the roadway. The vehicle struck several trees and hit an embankment, causing it to roll.

Helman was ejected from the vehicle. The vehicle came to rest around 360 feet from the initial impact.

Helman and Lawlor were both flown by Samaritan to Parkview Regional Hospital in Fort Wayne.

Police believe alcohol was a factor in the accident.
