STEUBEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) Police in Steuben County said Friday morning a K9 officer helped them locate an injured driver in a field, after she was in an alcohol related crash.
It happened Friday morning around 4:00 a.m. on I-69 at the 146 mile marker.
Police said when they got on scene officers located a Toyota Sport Utility Vehicle rolled over in the ditch that had no one in it.
Deputy Brad Kline arrived on scene with his K9 partner Kash.
A track was started that led south through a bean field.
Authorities found Tara Manard, 24, of Carmel, Indiana laying in the bean field.
Officials said Manard had exited the vehicle on her own, and was not ejected.
Manard was taken to Cameron Hospital in Steuben County with a complaint of head pain.
Alcohol was believed to be a factor in the crash.
The Indiana Department of Transportation has made it easy to check road conditions around the state.
