ALLEN COUNTY/WHITLEY COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) U.S. 30 is back open after a crash involving two semis closed the westbound lanes for several hours.

A witness told authorities that one of the trucks was traveling northbound on County Road 800 East (County Line Road) and as it entered the intersection with U.S. 30, a westbound semi struck it.

It appears the driver of the truck on U.S. 30 may have ignored the traffic signal for some reason.

Both drivers were able to get out of the vehicles and were walking and talking when authorities arrived.  Both were taken to an area hospital with minor injuries.  One of the semi trailers was empty, the other was hauling flowers.

According to Indiana State Police, dense fog has made travel in the area hazardous.

State police were asking motorists to turn on their headlights before heading out today because of the fog.
