AKRON, Ind. (WANE) - A two vehicle crash involving a motorcycle on State Road 19 at Division Road left one man dead on Thursday.
Police said Arissa Grossman, 52, of Akron, was driving a van eastbound on Division Rd. and stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of State Rd. 19. She then turned northbound onto State Rd. 19 into the path of a motorcycle traveling southbound.
The motorcycle driver, Thomas Witmer, 39, of Warsaw, struck Grossman's vehicle. He was ejected from the motorcycle.
Police said Witmer was pronounced dead at the crash scene. He was wearing his helmet.
Grossman was not injured. Police said she was issued a citation for failing to yield to cross traffic.
The Indiana Department of Transportation has made it easy to check road conditions around the state.
