DEKALB COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) A Fort Wayne woman was airlifted to an area hospital Saturday after crashing into another car parked on the berm of I-69 near Ashley Saturday morning.
According to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department, just after 6:30 a.m., Courtney Lincoln was headed north on I-69 in the right hand lane when she went off onto the berm and struck a disabled vehicle just north of the 137 mile marker.
The disabled vehicle was then propelled 121 feet north and came to rest faced south on the northbound berm.
Lincoln’s vehicle was sent down the east embankment, through a boundary fence and into a soybean field.
Police did not release any details on what caused Lincoln to leave the roadway or her condition.
Officers did close a portion of I-69 near the accident, but reopened all lanes by 8:00 a.m.
The Indiana Department of Transportation has made it easy to check road conditions around the state.
