FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - A man and a woman were sent to the hospital in serious condition early Monday morning following a single-car accident.
Around 12:45 a.m., police said a car was driving south on Hobson Road when it left the road just south of Stellhorn Road. The vehicle went through grass, swiped several trees, went down a small hill, and then went airborne over another small hill before coming to a stop in a parking lot at IPFW's campus housing.
Investigators estimated the car traveled approximately 150 yards off the road before stopping.
Police did not release the names of the two involved.
Officers said neither occupant were wearing seatbelts and police have not been able to identify who was driving. Police said both occupants were outside the vehicle when they arrived.
Police believe alcohol might have been a factor in the crash.
IPFW police were looking at campus security cameras to see if the accident was caught on tape.
The incident remains under investigation by the IPFW Police Department.
The Fort Wayne Police Department, Indiana State Police, and TRAA assisted at the scene.
The Indiana Department of Transportation has made it easy to check road conditions around the state.
