ADAMS COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) - A two-car crash that occurred around 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, injured five people in Adams County, north of Berne.
Police said Jacqueline Curtis, 22, of Bryant, was traveling south on US 27 near County Road 400 South when she lost control of her vehicle because of her speed.
Curtis drove left of the center line after she lost control and collided head on with Angela Price, 22, of Decatur, who was driving nouthbound on US 27.
According to police, Curtis and one of her passengers, Nicholas Mata, 27, of Decatur, were taken to Adams Memorial. A second passenger, Adam Hough, 23, of Portland, was also taken to Adams Memorial for a possible fracture.
Police said Price and her two passengers, 4-year-old Jemson Price and 1-year-old Jaxton Price were all taken to Adams Memorial.
Police said all five of the people were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.
According to police, Curtis was cited for operating without financial responsibility, driving while suspended, driving left of center, and speeding.
US 27 was closed for over an hour Wednesday morning while police cleaned up the scene of the accident.
The Indiana Department of Transportation has made it easy to check road conditions around the state.
