WATERLOO, Ind. (WANE) - Viewer David used Report!t to send us these photos of a train that hit a pick-up truck in Waterloo at around 4:00 a.m. Sunday morning.
The Waterloo Police Department said the accident happened around 385 feet west of the
Center Street crossing on the Norfolk Southern railroad tracks.
A Dodge Dakota pick-up was left on the Norfolk Southern Railroad track for an undetermined reason when a westbound Norfolk Southern mail train struck the truck and dragged it approximately one mile down the track before coming to a stop.
Police said there were nobody was in the truck at the time. There were no injuries.
The investigation is still under way as to why the pick-up was left on the tracks.
The Indiana Department of Transportation has made it easy to check road conditions around the state.
