STEUBEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) - A two-vehicle crash on State Road 4 in Steuben County left one person in critical condition and six other with minor injuries Saturday afternoon.
Hudson police said Parker Minier, 17, of Hudson, was driving his 1993 Chrysler Park Avenue east on SR 4 when he tried to turn left onto Main Street. As he was turning, a 2002 Chevrolet Suburban driven by Jon Rau, 41, of Arlington, Ohio, hit Minier's car broad side.
Police said Parkview Samaritan flew Minier to Parkview Regional Medical Center in critical condition with head injuries. Rau, his wife, and their four children were taken to DeKalb Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
Officers think seatbelts were being worn and airbags deployed in both vehicles.
Hudson police were assisted by the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, Steuben County EMS, Hudson, Fire Department, Steuben County Communication and Bill’s Professional Towing.
The Indiana Department of Transportation has made it easy to check road conditions around the state.
